ENTRY 4 Having recently admitted to myself that I'd possibly been too harsh and overly critical of how I'd steered my business through the current unstable economic and business climate, I decided to appreciate and acknowledge the fact that we have managed to survive where many have had to gracefully bow out of sight! That we are still here is partially down to sheer determination and partly down to the early decision to re-evaluate how we can modify what we do to remain relevant yet in demand. Part of this exercise included acknowledging that we should focus our energy on raising awareness of our products and making them more readily available. To this end we commissioned the WOW Agency to re-design the website for our board game Shhh or Tell it and the Success Factory to develop a Shhh or Tell it Facebook App. All said and done I think I'll hold off with the criticism for now and congratulate all our efforts instead!
ENTRY 5
I've always heard it said that ‘to get something you've never had, you've got to do something you've never done’. So what have I done recently that I've never done before? I have put myself and the business forward for some awards for the first time in over 11 years of business as a result we've been selected as finalist for 4 awards. Firstly we are Mentor of the Year 2011 - Finalist for the Precious Online Awards and we are also Finalists at the Camden and Islington Business Awards for the following Awards:
1. Best Creative Business - Distinctly Different (Shhh or Tell it)
2. Mentor/Coach/Training Consultant of the Year - Distinctly Different (Atiti Sosimi)
3. The People's Choice - Distinctly Different
...So what am I getting that we've never had before? Significant exposure and an increased profile, recognition of our achievements and contributions, and new business opportunities in new markets. Why don't you try the saying out and see what it ushers in for you!
